The American Board is recruiting an experienced teacher to join our team as a Curriculum Specialist. The ideal candidate for this position should be eager to help prospective teachers prepare for the classroom. The Curriculum Specialist will be charged with assisting and monitoring American Board enrollees as they work towards completing our self-paced, online teacher certification program.
Our program serves career changers who are transitioning into the education field and who require the advice and direction of an experienced teacher. Many of our enrollees need assistance with studying tactics, standards and pedagogy application, test preparation, and essay writing. Often, this position will act as a case manager, helping enrollees to stay on track and successfully complete the program. All communication will be facilitated by email and phone calls.
Primary duties will include:
- Ongoing outreach to program enrollees
- Responding to content/test preparation inquiries
- Monitoring and reporting on activity levels of enrollees
- Tracking testing attempts of enrollees
- Counseling enrollees to ensure completion of the program
The position is full time with full family health benefits. Located near the Emory campus, the American Board Headquarters is open from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Salary is negotiable.
